What is the "best" brand of hearing aid?
Hearing aids are not one-size-fits-all. This means that the "best" hearing aids for one person are not the best for someone else. Your audiologist will work with you to select the hearing aid that is most appropriate for your hearing loss and lifestyle.
Hearing Aid Styles
There are many different styles of hearing aids, from those that are almost invisible to those that are large and easy to manipulate for individuals with dexterity concerns. Some hearing aids go behind your ear, and others sit entirely inside of the ear.
The style of hearing aid that is best for you depends on your hearing loss, lifestyle, and individual preferences. Your audiologist will help you select the style that will give you the best hearing possible and help you meet your hearing goals.

Real Ear Measures
Why Real Ear Measures Matter
The most important factor in how well hearing aids work is how they are programmed. Real Ear Measures are used to make sure the hearing aids provide enough volume based on an individual's hearing loss, while not "over-amplifying" loud sounds.
The Process
In this procedure, a small microphone is inserted into the ear canal to measure how much volume the hearing aids are giving for soft, medium, and loud sounds. This is the only way to accurately measure and program hearing aids.
Our Commitment
At Sounds of Life, Real Ear Measures are performed at every hearing aid fitting in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
