Through an exploratory phone call, a pre-visit questionnaire, thorough on-site testing, and ample discussion, I felt like Dr. Curtis has a very good fix on my hearing needs. I am a retired scientist who loves to get into the nitty-gritty of things. Dr. Curtis patiently explored with me the plusses and minuses of several hearing aids that I had been considering and others she suggested as possible replacements for my current pair. “I was very impressed by the knowledge of Dr. Donovan. Over the last 6 months I have had quite a few disappointing hearing exams done at various locations that left me with more questions. This was the first exam that was extremely in-depth. The capability of their equipment tests beyond the regular restrictions of other locations (higher frequencies above 8khz, for example). She also took the time to answer all my questions patiently, I didn't feel rushed at all. I wish sounds of hearing would've been my starting point when trying to find answers about the change in my hearing. On my way out, I also noticed she took in another patient that was a walk-in due to an emergency situation, despite the fact they were closing. You can tell the staff here genuinely cares and are very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them.”

“I have been seeing Dr. Sarah Curtis now with Sounds of Life, LLC in Concord township now for the past couple of years. I just love how courteous her front office staff are! They always take good care of asking me and/or anybody who is driving me and staying with me for my appointment if we want any coffee or water while we are waiting for Dr. Curtis for my scheduled appointment or hearing test. When I had to upgrade my hearing aids because I'm totally blind with a pretty substantial hearing loss in both of my ears and needed to know exactly where the sound is coming at me from in order to not be embarrassed when talking with others out in public, she took the patience and time to explain my options of hearing aids to me and helped me pay for the current hearing aids I wear out of pocket at the least expensive or affordible price for me. She also gave me my own home dehumidifier as a lot of fluid gets drained out and stays in my hearing aids monthly, especially the hotter and more humid months of the summertime season, so it clogs up my hearing aids making them uncomfortable for me to wear. I would give this particular medical facility with its doctors and audiologists a 5-star rating! Good luck now and have a wonderful day serving other patients just like me!”

“Dr. Donovan is amazing, and words cannot express how incredibly competent and compassionate she has been treating my hearing loss. I've seen a lot of Audiologists over the years that have left a lot to be desired, and I actually drive an hour from Akron to see her -- she's that good. It took me a while to find her but I'm so glad that I did. Her technical skills and attention to detail are exemplary. Her compassion is outstanding. I've been told by many that I'm a difficult-to-fit case, but Dr. Donovan pretty much had my hearing aids dialed in on the first attempt. For the first time in 15 years, I can now hear out of my left ear appreciably (it was shot) and I'm able to hear sounds spatially. Amazing. Before her care I could hear a sound but had no idea from where it was coming. For the first time in forever, I can once again hear music well including all chord progressions and harmonies. Music before sounded dissonant and distorted. I can hear birds singing. I can hear crickets. Sounds of Life is one of the few practices that routinely uses Real Ear Measurement.
